We took about a week to travel to Flower Mound to visit our friend, Jackie. She moved to Texas about a year ago. We plan to arrive so that we can enjoy Thanksgiving with her and her family. :)
We traveled through Gallup and Albuquerque, Santa Rosa, Amarillo, and Wichita Falls.
Wichita Falls always has their holiday parade the weekend before Thanksgiving, so we went to check it out.
This is a picture of our bus boy at the restaurant we ate at while waiting for the parade. Had to take a picture with him as he is all decked out for the holidays. He was a super hard worker.
While in Amarillo, we were notified by one of the campers that there was a spread of Parvo in the park. A couple of days later, Martha was sick. I panicked and we called local vets. Due to a problem with the local spay/neuter company many of vets would only see your pet if you had an established relationship. We luckily found a vet who would take Martha in. Gladly, she was tested negative for Parvo. The very nice vet gave her some antibiotics just in case. I am glad to say she is doing well!
We also went to the Panhandle Plains History Museum. This was an interesting museum as it had a very eclectic variety of things to see, from a pioneer town to paleontology.
We went to the Big Texan restaurant where they offer a 72 oz steak. If you can eat it in an hour, you get your meal for free. We did not attempt this, lol.
We arrived at Northlake Village in Roanoke where we would stay for a week to visit with Jackie. We had a super time helping her to look for an apartment to move to in the spring and meeting many of her friends. Thanksgiving was wonderful, Jackie is a great cook and thanks to her daughter, Sherry for hosting Thanksgiving at her home. We also attended church and celebrated the first Sunday of Advent.

Nevada and Arizona
After spending 3 wonderful weeks in San Diego Area visiting friends and going to doctor appointments. We are on the road again.
First stop: Las Vegas to see our dear friend and what we consider our adopted daughter, Adri. She landed an opportunity to attend a conference so we left Vista and met her in Vegas. First night out we ate at Buddy V's, a very nice Italian restaurant in the Venetian.
Then we took her to the Hofhaus. What a great time!
We are camping at Nellis AFB, a site that we love because it has a great dog park and is a nice, clean facility. While walking the dogs, the Air Force was flying jets overhead. We think they were practicing for an upcoming air show.
We had a great time with Danielle in Flagstaff. We attended a symphony put on by the University.

On Sunday, we enjoyed the day by going to breakfast and then doing a little shopping downtown.
Now, on to Texas via Gallup and Albuquerque, NM.

Utah and more
We stayed at Big Mountain RV park while in Nephi, Utah. A very small town and the campsite had no internet or cell service even with our booster. Because of this we decided to leave a day early and head to St. George. But while we were in the area we felt we needed to see something, so we took a drive around the Nebo Loop, which was beautiful. We passed cattle along the road.
The trees are starting to change to the fall colors and we drove up to a place called the Devil's Kitchen. Pics below.

We were going to go to the Silver Reef Museum as they were advertising online about having Cowboy Days where they have people in period dress to talk about the cowboy days and Wells Fargo and they feature two shoot outs. However their neighbors had placed complaints about the shoot outs so the event was placed on hold. So, we drove to Zion National Park. The pictures do not do justice to the majesty of this canyon. You take a free shuttle that stops at nine points throughout the park. You can get off at any point and hike and then take another shuttle to the next point. We stopped and took the Grotto Trail, a half mile hike down to the lodge where we enjoyed a late lunch. We thought of our friend Tarissa as we saw the rock climbers clinging to the sides of the canyons.
On the way to Zion:

Saturday we went to a Swiss Festival in Santa Clara. We were hoping to find out something about Swiss culture, however, it was more like a street festival. One cool thing was that they had a dog agility demonstration. So we watched that, walked around, listened to a little music and supported the local high school cheerleaders by purchasing some baked goods.
After St. George we traveled to Page, Arizona and on to Flagstaff to spend a week with our daughter, Danielle. We had a terrific time as always and took a drive to Payson, Arizona where we went to a lavender farm.

We also enjoyed Flagstaff's annual Oktoberfest.
On to Las Vegas for the Renaissance Fair with Janette and Reid. Here is a pic of Janette and I freezing our tushies off on Friday night.
Now back to San Diego for a few weeks. Doctors appointments and visits with friends.
We stopped at 8000 feet for these pics.
