Our goals for this area are to see Mackinac Island, which we did yesterday. The day was cold and rainy. The ferry across to the island was an interesting ride as it went fast and the water spray from the engines was huge.
The main place to see was the Grand Hotel with the longest hotel porch in the world. It is a beautiful island and the only automotive we saw was a small fire truck. Otherwise, it is walking, bicycles and horse drawn carriages.
