It was supposed to be a short drive from Snake River to Wapiti but, with our luck it turns out that instead of an hour we drove 2 hours because of the highway and mountain driving. We pulled in to the camp early enough to take a short trip into Jackson AKA: Jackson Hole. We are camping 37 miles south of Jackson and when we made the reservations we figured it would be about a 1/2 hour drive in. Surprise! It took us an hour to get to Jackson. The traffic in Jackson was unbelievable. It took 20 minutes to drive the 2 miles from one end of town to the other. Guess nobody heard that the vacation season is over. We drove by Jackson Square to see the antler arches and will go back there on Monday. We went to the Visitors Center to find that it was closed due to COVID19. Luckily, they left lots of maps and some magazines outside of their door, so we picked those up. There was a restaurant in one of the papers advertising lobster rolls, so we thought we would do some East Coast time in Wyoming, lol, and we went there for dinner. A couple of years ago we went on an East Coast cruise to see the autumn color and here we are in Wyoming and finally get to see the trees changing.
